Visions

island1.jpg

I learned to meditate many years ago, and find it very relaxing and calming. This poem tells of some of the results of my meditations. To the right of the picture above, was one of my favorite fishing places. I meditated a lot while fishing. The picture below, is of the Oyster Shell Mounds. When I first arrived there, I was told they were haunted. I found out later that there were spirits there. A lot of them in fact!

When I close my eyes to meditate
Soon the visions will come
Perhaps of the faerie queen
Ledgendary kings
Insubstantial things
Soaring on crystal wings
But the visions will come.
They will speak to me, touch my face
Dance in their magic circle
And sing of another place
Where time as we know it does not exist
Where an hour is but a moment
And years will fall away
If Faerie Mab be kissed.
This do they all show to me
If I but close my eyes
For time is the only myth
And the little people know
That hours and minutes are the only lies.
