Silverlock's Den
I was young, alone in El Paso TX, and in love, Her name was Shirley, hence the name of this poem.
I could waltz across Texas With you in my arms The song was playing Just for you. The song was an old song From a day gone by Sung by a man That I knew But it was you that I held In my arms that night As the music softly played I could waltz across Texas with you. I wished the music Could go on and on But too soon the dance Was through But I will never forget The night they played I could waltz across Texas With you. ©Richard
