The sun creeps up to greet me,
My time will now begin,
I strike the match so meekly,
And light the Candle then.
I don't know where I'm going,
And I don't know where I've been,
But when I finally get there,
I hope I'll know it then.
In fact I never knew it.
In an instant it was past,
Then I was all but through it,
The Candle burns so fast.
My mind is heavy knowing,
With many wrongs to mend,
That what you have been sowing ,
Is what you reap in the end.
Now the candle flutters,
In disbelief and doubt,
I watch the sparks and sputters,
As the fire. winks. out.
Yet...
Life's river keeps on flowing,
On past the lives of men,
My Candle is still glowing,
However it may dim.
